JEJU ISLAND - Korea
Jeju Island is located off the southern coast of South Korea. It is a favourite with newlyweds (and K-drama fans). This popular retreat is also home to miles of golden beaches, winding coastal trails, and Jeju Waterworld, the area’s largest water park. We visited the Botanic Gardens and Yakcheonsa Buddhist Temple.
Yeomiji Botanical Garden,
Asia's largest. Yeomiji means "a beautiful land," and its incredibly lavish indoor and outdoor landscaping displays live up to its name. Discover a three-acre glass greenhouse, anchored by a 38-meter-tall observation tower. It showcases breathtaking displays of over 2,000 varieties of exotic plants and blooms and 24 acres of themed outdoor gardens and water features.

Yakcheonsa Temple.
Built in 1981, it is the largest Buddhist temple in Asia, lavishly constructed in the style of the early Joseon Dynasty. The 16-foot (5-meter) tall Vairocana Buddha, which proudly sits on a pedestal flanked by large rattan flowers and golden dragons. Large rock statues called Dol hareubangs, also called tol harubangs, hareubangs, or harubangs, found on Jeju Island are considered to be gods offering both protection and fertility and were placed outside of gates for protection against demons travelling between realities.
A large ravine crossed by a stone bridge leads to the temple
These stone statues (reminiscent of Easter Island) are considered to be protective and fertility Gods.
